Data Ownership, Compliance, Hosting and Pricing
The questions IT heads and finance teams ask before signing, answered plainly.
Who owns the data?
Your university owns its data. Data ownership is stated in the agreement, and a complete export of your database and documents in standard formats can be provided whenever you need it, including at the end of the engagement.
How does the platform support the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023?
The platform provides the controls that DPDP compliance relies on: consent capture on forms, role-based access, audit logs, data correction on request and controlled data retention. The university remains the data fiduciary; the responsibilities of Huda's Technologies as a data processor are defined in the agreement.
Where is our data hosted?
Either on a cloud server or on your own servers, as you prefer. The hosting option and location are stated in the proposal, and data can be hosted in India.
How often is data backed up?
Database backups are automated. The backup frequency, retention period and restore procedure are agreed in the support plan; daily backups are a common choice.
What uptime and support response times do you commit to?
Uptime commitments and support response times are defined in a service level agreement (SLA) that forms part of the proposal. They depend on the hosting option and support plan you choose.
Can your support team see our data?
Support staff access the system only to resolve issues you raise. Access can be restricted to named staff and is recorded in the audit log; for on-premise deployments, access is granted by your IT team.
How is pricing structured?
Pricing is quoted per university based on the modules, number of students and users, campuses, integrations, mobile apps and hosting. It can be structured as a one-time licence with annual support or as an annual subscription. You receive a written, itemized proposal.
What happens if we decide to leave?
You receive a full export of your data and documents in standard formats, so you are never locked in.
