What it does
Manages the doctoral lifecycle end to end: admission, entrance and interview, registration, supervisor and co-supervisor allocation, research topic and proposal, coursework, progress reports and Research Advisory Committee (RAC) reviews, seminars and publications, plagiarism check, synopsis and thesis, external examiners, viva voce, corrections, final submission and degree.
Why it matters
PhD processes involve many committees and statutory timelines. Digital tracking prevents delays and ensures compliance with the applicable regulations.
PhD Management in detail
Doctoral programs involve long timelines, several committees and statutory requirements, which makes them hard to manage on paper. The PhD module follows each research scholar from the entrance test and interview to registration, supervisor and co-supervisor allocation, coursework and fellowship records.
Progress reports are submitted online and reviewed by the Research Advisory Committee, with meeting schedules, recommendations and minutes stored against the scholar. Seminars and publications are recorded as they happen, so eligibility for synopsis submission is clear. Reminders keep scholars, supervisors and the research office aware of upcoming deadlines.
At the thesis stage, the module manages synopsis approval, pre-submission seminars, plagiarism checks, thesis submission, external examiner appointment, the viva voce and any corrections. Once the degree is awarded, the record links to the examination and convocation modules. Deans and the research office can see every scholar's status and each supervisor's load at a glance.
